Voices: Manitoba's Youth in Care Network provides support, encouragement and advocacy for youth as they move from wards of the government, to youth transitioning to independence, and continue growing into young adults building their lives and futures. We are youth-driven and youth-focussed.

We raise awareness of the challenges youth-in-care face, educating the public and working with child welfare professionals to create a better system of care in Manitoba, improving living conditions for children and youth who find themselves in alternative care, such as foster homes, group homes, and independent living programs.

Our members range in age from 12 to 30 years old. 80% of youth in care in Manitoba are of Aboriginal ancestry, while the remaining 20% are comprised of the vast array of cultures from Manitoba's community, including new immigrant families. We have a growing youth membership, and our newsletter reaches over 400 youth and adult supporters bi-monthly.
